You are invited to be a part of the third instalment of Faction Wars

Brought to you by The Palmerston North Airsoft club with the support of the Taranaki Airsoft Rangers, this event is a 24hr event starting on Saturday and running nonstop till it ends on Sunday taking place over Taranaki Anniversary weekend.

This event closely follows the very popular S.T.A.L.K.E.R video game series.

This event embraces all types of players from the post-apocalyptic loadout to a heavily armed military loadout.

The event also has a multi dynamic story line where the story is ever evolving with multiple objectives happening all at the same time.

Think you know your own team, think again as even team mates can turn on you. The chose is down to the player and how he or she wants to play the game.

So this event is for everyone!

Life in the Zone is not easy. Everyone that enters the Zone comes only with the little equipment that they can carry on their backs.

The zone is situated in the shadow of Mt Taranaki in a little place called Midhirst.

The State Security Service protects the entrance to the Zone but has granted passes to a strict number of stalkers for 24hours.

Once you enter the staging area, the military will check you before allowing you to make camp within the safe Zone where you will prepare your equipment and papers before entering the Zone.

Once settled into camp, you are required to join a Faction:

  • Duty
  • Freedom
  • Stalkers
  • Bandits
  • Loners

There is another Faction but the members of this Faction are to be feared. They call themselves Monolith and this Faction cannot be joined.

Places in each Faction are limited, first in first served so get in early! Watch the event page for more information about each of the Factions.

The only way to survive the zone long term is:

  1. Stay alive’
  2. Hunt for anything valuable that you can trade

At the heart of the safe area is Yanov Station. It is where Hawaiian the Trader resides (who is rather bribable for the right sweet price, so we hear), and is the main safe zone where all are welcome, with no trouble to be caused or you may find a bounty on your head..

There are others in the zone who could be your best friend or your worst enemy… Monolith are quasi-religious fanatics who worship and are mind controlled by the wish granter at the centre of the zone known as The Monolith. They are well armed and equipped and will ruthlessly track down and eliminate anyone that they consider who poses a threat to the Monolith.

The Military Stalkers are the border patrol and have control of the main supply track that divides the zone in two. You may have to pay them to cross sides. They will also assist Monolith in tracking down and eliminating troublemakers. Military Stalkers have access to a large military ammo supply…

Any gun firing 30 rounds per second and over will have a MED of 20M.

Ammo is hard to find but if you manage to find a full Auto weapon, it needs to be within the limits.

If someone is found to be abusing this MED rule will be removed from the game.
This rule has been put in place to keep players safe and avoid extreme overshooting at close range.

  • Please bring sturdy footwear, and enough clothing to keep you warm and dry throughout the event.

Anomalies + Armour Upgrades

There are dangerous areas called Anomalies.
To enter these areas, you need to get armour to protect yourself.
To upgrade your armour, you need Rubles. How to earn these you may ask, if you have the right detector of course you will need to brave scary anomalous areas that could go fizz, bang and pop and be careful if you stash things… they may not be there when you go back.

An emission is a phenomenon that only Monolith can survive.
The only way to survive is by getting back to the safe zone when a warning has been given that an Emission is about to take place.

We will provide you with some ammo to start with and as the game goes on those artifacts you trade cane be used to buy more ammo. We will provide .2, .25, .3 and .4. If you need anything else, you need to bring it and surrender to Hawaiian.

  • A red-light source for night gaming
  • White light for night gaming
  • AS/NZS 1337 high impact eye protection at a minimum.
  • A method of timing your wound time when hit (Stopwatch, watch etc.) Counting is not good enough for players!

  • A radio for your safety
  • Backpack for carrying gear and artifacts in
  • Cup and water bottle – HYDRATE! Hawaiian gives good hydration lectures.
  • Sleeping gear (if too lame to work through the night)
  • Guns… lots of guns… and batteries and mags lol
  • Clothing to account for all weather conditions and terrain
  • Gluten free treats for Hawaiian – (a grumpy Hawaiian could be sweetened to give you special information, or more money for an artifact) traces of gluten/made in the same factory is fine
  • Additional food for you
  • Medication requirements (Hawaiian can store this if required)
  • Sun protection and Insect repellent

How many tickets are available? Also, how many are left?

Hey Nathan, look in the box called “Tickets” and you’ll see that the event tickets shows under the price 93 available (at the moment). The number that shows there is how many tickets are remaining for purchase. Under the meal ticket price there is no number because a limit has not been set on that ticket.

what do you mean by (a red-light source for night gaming) (White light for night gaming) ? and with you saying from the choosable teams only the freedom can wear camo, do the other factions have to wear civilian clothing if they cant get any stalker type stuff? and how do you know what to wear if you dont know what faction you are in before the game starts? and can you wear chest rigs or is it limited to what you can wear?

      Hey Can,

So the red light at night is your kill light and the white light is so you can see.

There will be a post going up on the Faction Wars event page soon with different load out options. You can still wear camo, we are encouraging people to look into the game and choosing an outfit representing the Faction they wish to be on.

Yes you can wear chest rigs.

I have tried a few times to purchase but each time I try the cursor changes to a round circle with a line through it. So I am not able to purchase tickets. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi Josh, make sure you change the number of tickets from the default “0” to “1”. If you try to click Get Tickets without doing this you’ll get the cursor as Hodge described.
